Why this tea?
This tea comes from a unique varietal native to Pu’er City—Jinggu Dabai 景谷大白, a small-leaf type specially cultivated for producing premium white tea. Grown at altitudes above 1,800 meters, surrounded year-round by mist and lying within the world’s prime “golden latitude” zone, these ideal natural conditions give the tea its distinctive richness and layered flavor.
From the misty mountains of Pu’er City, Yunnan, at an altitude of 1,800 meters, this white tea is born in a rare and untamed environment. The unique geology here is dominated by red clay soil, prone to landslides that often cut off the only mountain roads. Compared to Bingdao, it feels even more isolated—there are no highways, and many paths can only be reached on foot. Yet, it is precisely this harsh terrain that gives the tea its distinctive sweet and mellow character.
What sets it apart from other ancient-tree teas is the extraordinary precision required in its craftsmanship. Harvesting must be timed down to the minute, with strict standards for leaf selection. Ordinary ancient trees—often hundreds of years old—grow tall and towering, making such precision nearly impossible. By contrast, the trees for this tea have been carefully dwarfed over generations, pruned low to the ground for centuries. Though they appear as small, humble shrubs, their thick, timeworn trunks reveal their true age and heritage.
As a famous Chinese saying goes: “Three years makes medicine, seven years makes treasure”, which reflects white tea matures with time, developing not only a deeper, richer flavor but also enhanced wellness benefits.
The raw leaves of this white tea come from a centuries-old tea garden, where generations of indigenous people have pruned the ancient trees into low, shrub-like forms, reserved exclusively for producing fine white tea. Because of the region’s extremely humid climate, long-term human settlement is difficult, leaving the land in a near-pristine, forest-like state. With minimal human interference and no use of pesticides or chemical fertilizers, the tea thrives naturally—ensuring its pure, exceptional quality.

What’s the taste?
The first sip of this tea is as refreshing as mountain spring water, with delicate floral-honey notes. True to its name, it is as gentle and sweet as moonlight, carrying a subtle sweetness reminiscent of young corn. With proper aging and storage, its flavors evolve gracefully, revealing the fragrance of red dates and a fuller, more rounded body.
